BBA Meeting at Fletcher Allen

My company Advantage Creations is in the process of being accepted for membership into the Burlington Business Association. I attended my first meeting, which was held at the Fletcher Allen. We heard a presentation by staff of the FAHC regarding their organization’s progress.

We were presented their 5 pillars of management listed by importance:

1. Focus on quality – commitment to performance improvement.

2. Operational efficiency.

3. Financial stability

4. Culture of leadership – everyone in the organization is trained to act like a leader, to engage in outreach, community improvement, employees are surveyed on ways to improve job and organization.

5. Education & Research – to strengthen ties and be aligned with goals of educational bodies to improve information available.

I thought that these are great goals for any organization to strive for and would should be applied whether you are part of a private, non-profit or municipal organization.
