    Kelo v. New London was a very poor decision, and not in line with what I believe is the true purpose of eminent domain. Simply raising the dollar value of a property per se does not meet the threshold. Maybe the case will be overturned someday.

    Hopefully someday it will… in the meantime, I would urge people to vote for people for local and state office that are committed to not using eminent domain.  That’s something that we have more ability to control.

    Burlington’s Urban Renewal is an example of just how bad eminent domain can be.  People should watch Patrick Farrington’s Documentary on it, Champlain Street Urban Renewal Project (which is available at the Fletcher Free Library) so that people can see just how bad it can get and make sure that something like that never happens again here in Burlington.
