If he got the idea because of his own bad behavior, maybe this douche-bag should look in the mirror before trying to control other people using the law.

This guy may have just made the biggest political mistake of his life.  It might be time to “start a conversation” about dumping Thomas Koch in the next election.

“Koch responded saying that he never asked for the media attention on this bill and it wasn’t his intention.” Well, he’s a niave dingbat if he didn’t think that. I agree with Haik’s comment. During the past decade mobile phone use in cars has exploded, but hasn’t the crash rate remained much the same? Yeah, I carry a mobile with me, but don’t use it while driving. Personally, I think people are just noticing phones in cars more and making them a scapegoat for irratic driving.

    Hello Haik and Jay!

I agree with you Haik that this bill could make things difficult for his next election.  Opponents will most likely bring it up and it’s what he’ll be remembered for.

You make a good point Jay about people seeing more cell phone usage and assuming that it’s responsible for irratic driving.  As I said in my post, if someone is driving irractically, pull them over and fine them for that, whatever the reason.  It shouldn’t matter what they are doing in their car… if they are driving well, leave them alone.
